Caroline Guitar Co. has made an impact on the pedal industry since their conception in 2010 with outstanding releases like the Hawaiian Pizza Fuzz and the Somersault Lofi Modulator. They have a reputation of not taking themselves too seriously and creating pedals that not only sound excellent, but put emphasis on FUN. The Latest release, Arigato, is no exception. This salmon coloured tinderbox will make you wanna throw your one knob phaser at you bass player (or drummer). It can be a subtle little sweetener, or it can get wild and wooshy - but it never feels like you loose control. If it wasn't already fun enough to play, the Momentary Chaos footswtich makes for wicked, unique textures at the turnaround. ARIGATO neither seeks to recapture the sounds of the past, nor to be state of the art. It is a snapshot of a future we were promised as children. While capable of the airy psychedelia of classic units, this one is meant to rumble, wobble, shake, rattle, and roar. It is also capable of going fully wet for interesting vibrato sounds, max out feedback for autowah style filter sweeps, and a wide range of responsive shades throughout each control as they interact with the others. We’re pretty excited about this release; the first pedal Philippe ever owned was a phaser, and getting to make this feels like a homecoming.
