Van Diemens Analogue Audio Disruptors - Red Ochre OC42

The Red Ochre - RO114

This is our take on the classic Rangemaster Treble Booster with a couple of twists. Tuned just a little darker than the original pedal in it's brightest position, the boost is designed to offer classic drive and snarl to your tone without any edgy ear piercing spikes. The bright through to dark options are all usable tones and work with a variety of guitars, pickups and amps.

Housing carefully selected NOS or reclaimed components from the 50's 60s, 70's and 80's, these pedals are made with that vintage tone in mind. Each pedal is hand crafted, point to point, one at a time.

This boost features a Philips Mullard OC42. This Red Ochre offers everything from theĀ  classic bright Rangemaster tones, through to some very full, mid charged overdrive. The Filter controlsweeps from far left (brightest) to far right (warmest). The brightest is on the left as it is the original Rangemaster sound. Sweeping to the right offers the player more options in tone.

Along with this you can find

  • Mullard OC42 Transistor
  • WIMA and Ducon capacitors in the filter section
  • Mullard Mustard coupling capacitors
  • Sprague and Phillips capacitors on the board
  • Allen Bradley and Piher resistors
  • Wired point to point on a classic tag strip.

Mechanical components include -

  • Alpha pots
  • Alpha Foot switch
  • Neutrik jacks
  • Red LED
  • Lumburg 2.1mm DC power socketĀ

Each Van Diemens pedal is hand crafted, one at a time using carefully selected vintage components. When turning our transistors, we initially set standard voltages at the beginning, and then set the final tone, tuning by ear.Ā  We are constantly looking for the perfect sweet spot and once that point has been reached, we finalize the bias. We use classic pull back cloth wire and each hand cut and drilled fiber board uses either turrets, eyelets or through hole construction and are all wired, point to point.

IMPORTANT: All pedals use PNP Germanium transistors and as a result, are positive ground.
